Kuldeep Yadav, who had been on the periphery of the Indian team for a considerable period, is gradually regaining his form. Now, a former member of the selection committee has decided to break his silence regarding Yadav’s notable absence from the team line-up.

As the era of Mahendra Singh Dhoni draws to a close, Virat Kohli is gradually ingraining himself into the role of leading the Indian national team. During this transition, the Indian side has seen the emergence of two stellar spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, who are consistently leading the team to victory, making a name for themselves as the ‘Kul-Cha’ duo. However, Kuldeep’s journey has not always been smooth sailing.

After spending several months playing in India, Kuldeep suffered a slump in form, repeatedly getting sidelined from the team. Despite these setbacks, he has managed to make a comeback each time, proving his mettle with outstanding performances. Although he has not played every match, he currently stands as the highest wicket-taker in the national team, bagging 22 wickets.

Kuldeep Yadav is currently battling to regain his position in the national squad. He recently played the first T20 match against the West Indies. It was during this period that Sunil Joshi, a former member of the Indian selection committee, made an explosive comment about Kuldeep being dropped from the Indian team without any assistance from the team management.

After taking five wickets against Australia in Sydney, the wrist-spinner had to wait for more than two years to play his next Test match. This waiting period was exacerbated by the consistent wicket-taking abilities of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel, which only increased the pressure on Kuldeep. Throughout this time, former Indian selector Sunil Joshi revealed that Kuldeep had been on the outside of the Indian team without any support. The former Indian off-spinner made these revelations during an interview with the Indian Express.

Joshi told Indian Express, “When Kuldeep Yadav was dropped, I was part of the selection committee. Who came forward to help him? No one was by his side. No one from the coaching staff was there. I was the only one who stood up for his capabilities.”

Many point fingers at the Kolkata Knight Riders for Kuldeep’s off-form. Despite being in form, they benched him match after match, which many believe led to the loss of his form. However, this year, playing for the Delhi Capitals, Kuldeep delivered an exceptional performance, not only establishing his prominence but also silencing his critics.
