Nepal created history at the Asian Games on Wednesday as Dipendra Singh Airee smashed the fastest fifty in T20 cricket, breaking Yuvraj Singh’s 16-year-old record.

Airee reached his half-century off just nine balls against Mongolia, eclipsing Yuvraj’s previous mark of 12 balls, which he set against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup.

In a spectacular display of cricketing prowess, the men’s cricket team from Nepal set an astounding world record in the T20 International, amassing a formidable total of 314/3 in a span of 20 overs. The dramatic match unfolded at the scenic Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field, located in Hangzhou, witnessing Kushal Malla delivering a thrilling performance, scoring an extravagant 137 runs off 50 balls, decorating his innings with 12 sixes and eight boundaries.

Malla etched his name in cricket annals by achieving the fastest-ever century in T20 Internationals, reaching the monumental landmark in merely 34 balls. This feat surpasses the prior shared record of David Miller and Rohit Sharma, who both achieved their centuries in 35 balls.

This achievement also marked a historic moment as Nepal emerged as the pioneer team to cross the 300-run threshold in a T20 International match.
